Empowering Learning, Opening Doors to Opportunity

Last week, Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) supported Weithaga Bible and Technical College in Murang’a County with a donation of computers to strengthen learning and expand opportunities for students.

The college, led by Principal Bernard Kamau, trains ministers while also equipping young people with practical technical skills. With computer-related courses now part of its programmes and plans underway to expand its training offering, access to technology is an important step towards preparing students for an increasingly digital world. The donated computers will support teaching and learning while enabling students to build their digital skills, access online learning resources and explore new opportunities beyond the classroom.

This is part of KDIC’s commitment, under the leadership of our CEO, Mrs. Hellen Chepkwony, to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. While our core mandate is to protect depositors and contribute to financial system stability, we recognise that stronger communities are built when people have the knowledge, skills and opportunities to thrive. At Weithaga, it was encouraging to see an institution investing in both faith and skills development and KDIC is proud to play a part in that journey.

KDIC was represented by Kennedy Yegon, Deputy Director, ICT; Sarah Gatwiri, Deputy Director, Corporate Communications; Byron Ouma and Zawadi Mwikali from the ICT Department.
