Racing Against Time as Muriithi, Chepkwony Lead Staff in Planting 10,000 KDIC-Donated Tree Seedlings

The Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC), has in conjunction with NETFUND Kenya, planted hundreds of thousands of trees in Kessup Forest Block, Elgeyo Marakwet, during an event presided over by His Excellency President Dr. William Samoei arap Ruto.

Led by KDIC’s Board Chairperson Mrs. Hannah Muriithi, EBS, the Corporation donated 10,000 tree seedlings towards the exercise, that is part of the wider Government’s agenda of mitigating against adverse effects of climate change, by progressively increasing the country’s forest cover over the next ten years.

The event that saw KDIC’s Board teaming up with staff led by Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Hellen Chepkwony, was the latest of such initiatives by the Corporation, that has previously planted over 15,000 trees in different sites over the last three years.

Present alongside the Chair were Board Members Ms. Anne Lengerded, Ms. Melissa Ng’ania, Mr. Joseph Ng’etich, Mr. John Njera, Mr. Mohamed Adow and Mr. James Akali.
