KDIC Contributes to National Dialogue on Insolvency and Financial Sector Resolution Frameworks

KDIC CONTRIBUTES TO NATIONAL DIALOGUE ON INSLOVENCY AND FINANCIAL SECTOR RESOLUTION FRAMEWORKS

The Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) participated in the Dialogue on Insolvency, organised by the Kenya Judiciary Academy in collaboration with the Office of the Presiding Judge, Commercial and Tax Division, at Ole Sereni, Nairobi.

As part of the programme, Deputy Director Legal, Humphrey Momanyi, joined fellow panelists in discussions on Balancing Debtor Protection and Creditor Rights under the Insolvency Act, as well as Emerging Jurisprudence under the KDI Act and the Insurance Act, drawing from case studies, lessons, and reflections on financial and insurance sector insolvencies.

Our Director, Bank Resolution, David Irungu, together with Deputy Director, Deposit Insurance and Bank Surveillance, Nelson Nyongesa, participated in sessions on Bank Insolvency and Resolution Frameworks under the KDI Act, sharing practical knowledge from our resolution experience.

The sessions were highly engaging, featuring robust and interactive question-and-answer conversations with Judges and Magistrates, strengthening dialogue between the judiciary and financial sector institutions on insolvency practice and financial stability.
