KDIC CEO Emphasizes Culture and Collaboration at Strategic Management Workshop

The Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) CEO Hellen Chepkwony, has reiterated the importance of fostering a strong organizational culture and enhancing productivity as the Corporation embarks on its 2024/2025 performance goals. 
Speaking at the Senior Management Team (SMT) workshop, the CEO underscored the importance of culture as the cornerstone of the Corporation's success. Reminding all staff to actively participate in Corporate initiatives designed to accelerate desired changes across the organization.
“The issue of culture is at the core of our engagement, we must drive the desired change. Productivity mainstreaming will be a critical area of focus. I am therefore looking forward to greater engagement,” the CEO remarked. 
While acknowledging the challenges the 2024/2-025 Financial Year may bring, Chepkwony expressed gratitude for the progress made towards the achievement of the Corporation’s Strategic goals, even as she made a case for innovative thinking and reassessment of the Corporation’s priorities. The CEO also emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration across board aimed at enhancing the overall performance.
“As we begin this new year, I want to assure you that my priority areas haven’t changed. I will therefore be calling upon all of you for support. Let’s enhance collaboration between departments to improve our performance,” she concluded. At the same time, Chepkwony stressed the importance of reassessing priority areas in line with emerging realities defining the country’s financial landscape. 
Her sentiments were echoed by Paul Manga, KDIC’s Director of Deposit Insurance and Bank Surveillance, who spoke about the importance of seizing opportunities and fully committing to the tasks ahead. He expressed confidence that, with efficient resource management, KDIC will achieve its strategic objectives.
Making his contribution, David Irungu, Director of Bank Resolution, underscored the value of planning and reflection. He encouraged the team to not only set realistic targets but also evaluate past successes. 
The SMT retreat provided a valuable opportunity for KDIC’s leadership to align on key strategic objectives, with a focus on culture, accountability, and cross-departmental collaboration.
