
Nkirote-led Team Assume Office, Promise to Uphold Integrity

The newly elected officials of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation Staff Welfare Association, have formally assumed office with a promise to dutifully observe their fiduciary responsibility, upholding and implementing the association’s constitution in line with the interests of the membership.
Led by the Chairperson Julie Nkirote, the officials all of whom were elected unopposed, were tasked with the responsibility of fully operationalizing the constitution that was enacted during the recent staff Annual General Meeting. They took over from the Martin Mwai-led interim committee that has been in office for the last one year since the association was formed.
The new team will be expected to among others, oversee the growth the association’s fund, mobilize members to participate in social activities aimed at entrenching a corporate culture that mirrors KDIC’s core values of Professionalism, Integrity, Customer centric, Fairness, Innovativeness and Teamwork.
Speaking soon after the staff elections, Mr. Mohamud Ahmed Mohamud, KDIC Chief Executive Officer and Patron to the Staff Welfare Association, termed the development “a milestone and assured staff of his unequivocal support.” Mohamud observed that KDIC’s staff welfare was paramount adding that the additional responsibility on the new officials will put to test their leadership skills.
Those elected alongside Nkirote to serve a staff compliment of at least 60 members, were Titus Ranja (Vice Chair) Irene Mogaka (Secretary) Gordon Ogaja (Assistant Secretary) John Ombasa (Treasurer) and Kenfrey Muriungi (Assistant Treasurer)
