NEW CEO Receives Docs

The Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation Board of Directors has appointed Mrs. Hellen Chepchumba Chepkwony as the new Chief Executive Officer for three years.

Mrs. Chepkwony’s formal appointment follows a competitive recruitment process. Before her appointment, Mrs. Chepkwony has been serving the Corporation in an acting capacity for the last four months. She will be expected to offer leadership in discharging the Corporation’s mandate.

Mrs. Chepkwony is a distinguished economist and an astute financial risk management professional with a demonstrable progressive track record in strategic leadership and management, spanning over twenty years gained by working with the Central Bank of Kenya, the National Treasury and KCB Bank. She was part of the team seconded from CBK to set up KDIC and was interim General Manager.

She holds a Masters and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics, both from the University of Nairobi and has attended numerous courses locally and internationally on Financial Stability, Bank Resolution and Financial Risk Management. She is a member of the Institute of Risk Management.
