St. Monica Children's Home is a registered Charitable Children Institution which was started in the year 2003 to cater for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) who came from Marurui and Githurai slums. The home’s mission is to inspire, teach and love the children by giving them homely facilities and developing the OVCs to have a self-drive and achieve

their goals in life. The home works with the poor communities as well as the local communities who share the organizations’ visions, to transform the vulnerable children into great responsible citizens through quality education. The home constructed a building with a capacity of 250 pax on land in Mavoko that was donated to them by the Director of the home, Mrs. Perpetua Gatome. KDIC assisted the home by donating a borehole immersion pump. The home now is self-sustained when it comes to food and water as they grow and irrigate their own crops.
