KDIC CEO and Dr Mutai of Mbagathi Hospital Inspect Projects, Discuss Partnership.

The Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mohamud Ahmed Mohamud, visited Mbagathi Hospital Nairobi, where he inspected the ongoing KDIC funded projects under the CSR program.

The projects are in support of the Universal Health Coverage initiative by the Government.  Mr. Mohamud’s tour came as the Corporation finalizes its plans for the highly anticipated commissioning of the multi-million shillings KDIC- funded projects, a significant contribution to medical health in the country. The project include an assortment medical equipment among them 6 ICU beds, 66 ordinary beds and two large waiting bays for visitors.

Speaking in the presence of his host Dr. Loice Mutai, Mbagathi Hospital Medical Superintendent, Mr Mohamud affirmed the Corporation’s commitment to transform lives through such initiatives. While extolling the Corporation’s achievements in deposit insurance, Mr Mohamud said: “Personally I have a bias towards Universal Health Coverage. We have been sent here to support mankind. And so we shall try and see how to collaborate in all areas of mutual interest.”

On her part Dr. Mutai lauded the partnership between the two institutions saying it will go a long way in addressing challenges faced by patients at the facility. “Your contribution is commendable and will go a long way in improving the comfort of our patients. We appreciate the unity of purpose,” she observed.

Present were KDIC’s General Managers Mr. Robert Mbarani (Corporate Services) Mr Paul Manga (Risk and Examinations) and a host of other members of Senior Management.

Other than Mbagathi Hospital, KDIC is running similar CSR  projects at the Spinal Injury Hospital as well as at  Wenje Dispensary in Tana River. The projects are identified and coordinated through the KDIC CSR Staff Committee which receives and processes requests from needy public institutions.
